HDMI Cable
High-Definition Multimedia Interface, or HDMI, can give you the highest quality home entertainment experience by providing connections between audio/video sources, such as DVD players, and audio/video monitors, such as digital television. HDMI simplifies cable because only a single cable is used. The results are clear visuals and high quality audio.
HDMI will support multi-channel digital audio, as well as standard, enhanced and high definition video, all on a single cable. Because two-way communication between your DVD player (or other video source) and DTV is supported by HDMI, new functions such as one touch play and automatic configuration are enabled.
Because HDMI is the highest quality method of its kind around, cables need to be able to transfer at this quality. Standard copper cables of long lengths can be used for HDMI. Although HDMI technology requires a certain level of performance, it does not specify a maximum length of cable. Copper cables are sold by cable manufacturers at lengths of up to 20m.
