LINDY Launches SATA 6Gb/s Upgrade Cards
We announced today a range of internal and external SATA Revision 3 cards that enable users
to add two SATA ports easily to PCs and laptops and take advantage of the new third generation
of SATA technology with data transfer speeds of up to 6 Gbit/sec.
All of LINDY’s SATA 6Gb/s cards support Native Command Queuing (NCQ), a function which re-orders commands sent to the disk in the most logical sequence. This significantly decreases the time taken to perform a task by eliminating unnecessary drive head movement and improving overall performance. In addition, all of the cards support SATA’s Port Multiplier function that allows for the high speed connection of multiple devices.
At twice the speed of the previous specification, SATA 6Gb/s offers a vital upgrade to those users that regularly use bandwidth hogging applications and find they are already hitting the limit of SATA 3Gb/s. Combined with features such as NCQ, SATA 6GB/s allows users to stream high volumes of data quickly and easily, without impacting on the machines other operations.
The LINDY 2 PORT SATA 3 PCIe Card extends a computer’s interface by adding two SATA female connections, allowing users to easily integrate internal SATA 6Gb/s hard drives. For users that want to upgrade their PC to provide two external eSata ports, LINDY provides its 2 Port eSATA 3 PCIe Card. Both the internal and the external PCIe cards come complete with standard and low profile back plates.
Laptop users can add two eSATA 6Gb/s ports using the ExpressCard expansion slot, making it ideal for connecting external enclosures. The LINDY 2 Port eSATA 3 ExpressCard and the two PCIe cards are all compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP and support SATA transfer speeds of 1.5Gb/s, 3.0 Gb/s and 6.0 Gb/s.
